Navigation system for parking

Navigation system for parking

System of informing of free parking lots (Signal-Park) is a navigation system that is designed for busy and multi-level car parking areas, where drivers often have to drive in circles looking for a free space. The system of informing of free parking lots provides support for drivers by directing them in real-time to the vacant spaces by levels, zones and lanes. The system works with any type of four-wheeled vehicles.

How does the system of informing of free parking spaces work?

The detector, elaborated specifically to detect the presence of the vehicle under it, and the LED indicator are located directly above each parking space. Every second the detector reads off the presence of the vehicle and transmits its status to a central PC (via SCS). The PC processes the data and updates the information on the digital displays providing drivers with data on available parking spaces in real time.
Once the driver faces the need to choose the direction of movement (level, zone or row), the digital displays, with the help of dynamic arrows, show the traffic way. After that, one just needs to follow the signs to find the free parking space within the best terms and in the shortest possible time.

Why is it worth choosing Signal Park?

In case of Signal Park system installation you will offer your clients an efficient and high-quality service. The users will immediately appreciate time saving and simplicity of parking usage. In addition, they will no longer feel irritated because of a search for the necessary free parking space. Thus, you will increase their loyalty by offering a service that promises a comfort to them in all respects.
Obviously, with no system of informing of free parking spaces, the driver can drive in circles and, not finding any space, may even leave the area. Having faced such situation, in future the user will try to park his/her vehicle somewhere outside of your parking area. Parking without a navigation system can be compared with the city center, where transport interchanges are not equipped with traffic lights. Digital Signal-Park displays guide the drivers on the availability and direction to the free parking spaces directly at the entrance to the parking area.

Increase of the number of parking spaces

Before the system of informing of free parking lots was invented, designers had to leave clear passage at the end of each row, in order to prevent the formation of traffic jams in the busiest hours at the parking lot. With the navigation system there is no more the need for clear passage. This allows making the parking lot more profitable by increasing the number of parking spaces.

The picture on the right shows a sample of how Signal-Park allowed increasing the capacity of parking are at each level, which implies a significant increase in parking spaces at the same expenditures for the construction of the building.

Profitability of the Signal-Park navigation system

Construction of the parking lot is expensive. Therefore, it is very important to get the planned profits and minimize maintenance costs. When clients are directed straight to the free parking spaces, the average driving time is reduced by 20%.
Parking lot can reach 100% of loading, when the exact position of each vacant space is known. Parking lots that are not equipped with navigation can be considered completely filled, although there are more parking spaces (about a dozen in our example) available.
At peak hours (6 hours per day), the parking turnover (1000 parking lots) is about 12 vehicles per minute. The time required by the driver to reach the exit is about 3 minutes. This means that 36 cars have cleared their parking spaces and are moving toward the exit. In the parking lot with no Signal-Park navigation system, the car record keeping system considers these spaces to be occupied and may not let the new vehicles enter the area, in other words, 36 parking spaces remain constantly unused. Signal-Park immediately detects the vacant parking spaces allowing new vehicles enter the parking lot.
Therefore: 36 parking spaces * 15 UAH / hour * 6 hours * 200 days = approximately 712 800 UAH of lost profit for the parking lot with 1000 parking spaces.

Monitoring of the occupied parking spaces

It often happens that the vehicle remains parked at the parking lot longer than the permitted term. Information on where it is parked means that it is possible to determine its registration number. In this case, the client, who claims to have lost his/her parking ticket and says that he/she entered the parking lot an hour ago, can be found out.
